Fruit & Vegetable Program

This week the students will receive another delivery from the BC School Fruit & Vegetable Nutritional Program.

MANDARIN ORANGES

  • Mandarin oranges are grown on small (10 ft high), slender-twigged deciduous trees.
  • The tree is more drought-tolerant than the fruit. The mandarin is tender, and is damaged easily by cold.
  • Compared to other citrus fruits, Mandarin oranges have 6 to 7 times the amount of “synephrine” a naturally occurring decongestant to help with flu season!

  • For further information, fascinating facts and interesting history on this delicious fruit please read the PDF document on MANDARIN ORANGES.

Students will receive their delivery during class time on Wednesday. This snack is not meant to replace the foods students normally eat at school. Students can make their own decisions on whether to taste the fruits offered.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the PAC at arlordpac@gmail.com or contact the school administration at 604-713-4620.

    • Our students learn basic music theory and get to play a variety of musical instruments

    • Our students learn traditional dances like the Virginia Reel and the Pasodoble along with more contemporary moves like hip-hop and flash mob dances

    Halloween Assembly

Our October 31st Halloween assembly was attended by spooks, ghouls, and many species of living creatures!  Vice-Principal and temporary witch Mrs. Gray read some spooky Halloween stories, and all students who wished to display their costumes could walk across the stage.  We were reminded of some ways to keep Halloween safe, and even treated to some Halloween safety rules set to music, performed by our older students, and composed by them in collaboration with their "buddies" in the younger grades.

Parents are always welcome to attend school assemblies at Lord.
We hope you had a great Halloween!
