Please remember our ongoing fundraisers!

Please remember our ongoing fundraisers. You can make purchases and help our school without spending anything extra!

Chapters/Indigo: make a donation directly through their fundraising page, or buy an Indigo eGift card through that page and 20% of the value of the card will go back to the school. That means that if you buy a $25 gift card, a $5 credit to buy books from Indigo will go directly to Dr. A. R. Lord. There are only two months left on their current campaign, so go now!

Magazine subscriptions: go here to buy your magazine subscriptions and 37% of the cost of the subscription will go directly to our school!

Café Ético: order organic and "beyond fair trade" coffee and tea from this non-profit by the 10th of each month, and give money to Dr. A. R. Lord as well as to human rights in Central America. Order forms can be picked up at the front desk of the school or downloaded here.

This week the students will receive another delivery from the BC School Fruit & Vegetable Nutritional Program.

Kindergarten to Grade 2 students will also be receiving cow's milk or a fortified soy beverage as part of the +Milk program. Here's scoop number eight on MILK.

BABY CUCUMBERS

  • The cucumber is a creeping vine that roots in the ground and grows up trellises or other supporting frames, wrapping around ribbing with thin, spiraling tendrils.
  • Cucumbers are scientifically classified as fruits because they have an enclosed seed and develop from a flower.
  • Cucumbers are 95% water.

  • For further information, fascinating facts and interesting history on this crunchy vegetable please read the scoop on CUCUMBERS.

Students will receive their delivery during class time on Wednesday. This snack is not meant to replace the foods students normally eat at school. Students can make their own decisions on whether to taste the vegetables offered.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the PAC via e-mail or contact the school administration at 604-713-4620.
