Shopping Fundraisers Online - 33 days left! -Books for Dr. A.R. Lord
The Dr. A.R. Lord Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has chosen a few easy online fundraisers that are low pressure, high utility, and low overhead that generate money for the school and it's students.
The Flipgive Fundraiser is focussed on purchases of items that you may buy elsewhere (eg. direct through retailers in store or online, gift card vendors such as the supermarket, or even Groupons) but instead of the seller earning all the profits, a portion is shared with our school. In turn we use this money to purchase new books for our Library in the Books for Our Kids Program.

Great Success at HCC Children's Market Sale
On Saturday October 18th the PAC and parent volunteers sold donated clothing, toys, and children's items at the Hastings Community Centre/Family Drop in Children's Market. Many families took the opportunity to clear out the clutter from their homes and REUSE, while raising funds for our school at the same time. Profits will go towards supporting our teacher's classrooms with extra supplies and for special events and field trips for our children.
Thank you to all who pitched in by donating items, helped transport items, set up, sell, clean up and purchase items during the event.

Dr. A.R. Lord Alumni Association (DARLAA) - Thanksgiving hampers donated
A.R. Lord has had amazing children pass through our East Van school whom have now grown up to become young adults that continue to give back to their roots. DARLAA is a non-profit organization of our school alumni that focuses on youth leadership, community engagement and charitable endeavours.
They have continued to support our students and school by hosting fun activities, volunteering at events such as sports day, raising funds and donating to the families and children at our school. Their latest endeavour was to provide 100% of the funding to create five generous thanksgiving food hampers.
These baskets were delivered to our school last week and Principal Ms. Car gave them to families in need within our school community.
DARLAA we thank you for your generous support and are so proud of all your efforts, energy and especially your model leadership that you demonstrate to our children!
