Events: Education and the upcoming Election

EVENT: BCCPAC All-Party Forum on Education - April 4
In the lead-up to the May 9 election, the BCCPAC will be hosting an All-Party Forum on Education April 4, at 7pm in the James Cowan Theatre in Burnaby.
Registration is now open and is now also open to all parents and PACs even if you aren't a member of BCCPAC. The 90-minute forum will be solely focused on Education and it will be an opportunity for BCCPAC members to hear about educational platforms and strategies directly from representatives of the three main political parties: the BC Green Party, the BC Liberal Party and the BC New Democratic Party.

EVENT: Discussion of Provincial Education Policy - April 11
Your Education Matters is hosting a another discussion on public ed with former Minister of Education George Abbott on Tuesday April 11st, at 7pm. The event will be moderated by Katie Hyslop, Education & Youth Reporter for The Tyee and the panel will include past VSB Chair Mike Lombardi, Cindy Dalglish of Surrey Students Now, Jennifer Stewart of FACE and PAN and Andrea Sinclair of PAN. This event is open to everyone and its free. It starts at 7pm at SFU Woodwards in downtown Vancouver. The evening should be insightful and informative - we look forward to seeing many concerned citizens there. Poster for sharing within your networks is attached.

EVENT: Vancouver DPAC - Save the Date - April 25
We know Public Education is as a key issue in the upcoming election. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday April 25th for Vancouver DPAC's all-party discussion. It will be open to all parents and held in Rm 180 at the VSB offices on West Broadway starting at 6:30pm. Education Reporter Tracy Sherlock will be moderating the discussion among MLA's and candidates.
