Rejuvenated!

With many thanks for the generosity of TreeCanada (http://treecanada.ca/en/programs/greening-canadas-school-grounds/) and FedEx Express (http://www.fedex.com/ca_english/about/eventandsponsor/), plus the efforts of some special parents, our school has a new front entrance garden!

We now have a gorgeous pink flowering ornamental cherry tree (Prunus x yedoensis "Akebono") as our main centerpiece, as well as some beautiful purple flowering California Lilac shrubs and some smaller purple flowering Heather plants, making the front of our school even more welcoming. We are very grateful to our donors, and appreciate their commitment to greening Canada's schools.

Thank you to Ms. Bains's & Ms. Ewing's Grade 1 students who created beautiful tree ornaments and helped celebrate the planting of our new tree and entrance garden. We will continue our greening project on the west side of the school in the coming months - stay tuned!
