Morning Announcement by Student Office Monitors

Grade 6 and 7 students help out as office monitors with the morning announcements each day. They read out key communications to the school over the P.A. including events and reminders,  safety announcements, and student birthdays. 

Update from A.R. Lord - Class Assignments

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Thank you for your patience as we work through the school start up and transitioning into our new classes for the 2015-2016 year.  The good news is that we were given an extra division this year!  We now have 7 divisions and lots of room to grow!

The staff have been meeting and working diligently on a new organization putting the usual great care into every placement decision.  Class lists are being finalized and we will be switching classes on Monday.  Please note that you may need to pick up your child at a different classroom on Monday!  For the older and returning students, please arrange to meet your child outside afterschool, either out front or at the back under the covered play area; these areas are supervised until 3:15.  This would be greatly appreciated as the hallways are becoming very congested during drop off and pick up times, especially as we welcome all the young, new kindergarten children.

• Div 1 Gr. 7 - Room 205  Ms. O'Neill
• Div 2 Gr. 5/6 - Room 203 Teacher On Call- until a new permanent teacher is hired

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Each day, a little after the bell rings and everyone settles into their classrooms, is the time for morning announcements. The older students in the school are assigned this responsibility and have the opportunity to address the school on the public announcement system. Ms. Ling, the administrative staff member, prepares the announcements and reviews the notes with the students in advance.  

They usually announce any special events for the day, give reminders and notifications. They also get to acknowledge any students who are celebrating a birthday.
