Christmas time is traditionally the most popular time for food drives for the food bank. A.R. Lord student council helped coordinate this year's collection of greatly needed food items and cash donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The Food Bank ensures that nutritious and healthy food is available to those who need it, right in their communities and in a dignified manner.* In Mar 2015: 852,137 people across Canada received food from a food bank
* More than one-third of this helped were children
* This was 1.3% higher compared to the same period in 2014
They also support Community Kitchens which build community as participants establish and nurture friendships, increase their food and nutritional knowledge as well as their culinary skills.
