A.R. Lord Announces Robotics Program

Dr. A.R. Lord is one of the few VSB elementary schools that will have the opportunity to learn coding, engineering principals, and foster problem solving and teamwork through a new comprehensive Robotics Program. This incredible opportunity is possible due to the collaboration of students, parents, teachers and community partners.

The Parent Advisory Council has donated funding for the implementation of a full classroom set of VEX IQ Robots to enhance STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) learning in a fun hands on environment.

Teachers have also been further developing their technology, digital literacy, and robotics teaching skills through recent professional development days.
A.R. Lord parent and High School Teacher, John Silver has been coordinating additional support from John Oliver High School Students. They are currently building a robot arena for future competitions.

Stay tuned for additional updates on this exciting program!
