Each year, grade 4 and 7 students write a series of tests known as the Foundation Skills Assessment. These tests give a snapshot of how students are doing in the areas of reading, writing and math.
The FSA’s are given to students during instructional time and will occur during the period of January 17 – February 25. The classroom teachers determine the exact days and times for the tests. Earlier in January, a letter went home with each grade 4 and 7 student from the Chair of the Vancouver Board of Education explaining more about the FSA’s.
