Lantern Making and Light, Water, Drums Festival

Primary students at A.R. Lord have been busy making decorated lanterns out of recycled materials such as jars and bottles.

The Hastings North Community Partners Group, Hastings Community Centre/Templeton Pool and Hastings Community Association will be hosting the Light, Water, Drums Festival on Saturday January 23rd. It is a celebration of the dark, wet Vancouver winter in the beautiful natural setting at Hastings Park.  Join in on this free family fun activity and the light procession starting at 5:30pm at the NE Corner of Hastings and Renfrew. Outdoor Playing, Exploring and Learning! LET'S GO OUTSIDE!

Dr. A.R. Lord Kindergarten and Grade 1 students   were out enjoying the sunshine and crisp fall weather on a recent field trip to the neighbouring Hastings Park.  Their outing included playing in the fallen leaves, drawing plants, observing the local ducks in the pond, and walking in the natural surroundings of this beautiful urban park.  Children were tasked with drawing something "Cold", "Smooth" and something they could "Hear".
